Emergency Management - April 26, 2017

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Office of Emergency Management is offering a basic training course for community emergency response teams June 9-11 at the Griffith Fire Department, 5190 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem.

CERT members are trained to take care of themselves and help others in their communities for the first three days following a disaster.

Training will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Topics will include disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology and terrorism. Student materials will be provided. The training is free, but participants must commit to attending all classes. Participants who complete the course will be invited, but not required, to join a local community team.

Participation is limited to the first 25 qualified registrants. Forsyth County residents will have first priority.
