Fire Department - Jan. 14, 2015
The Winston-Salem Fire Department will partner with the Northwest North Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross for a Day of Service project in the Forest Park neighborhood on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 19.
Volunteers from the Red Cross and Winston-Salem firefighters will install smoke detectors in homes on Bretton, Verdun and Andover streets and Longview Drive. They will also conduct courtesy home visits and make recommendations on fire safety practices. The team will begin installations at 1 p.m.
Homeowners who live on any of the above streets who need smoke detectors or would like a fire safety courtesy home visit should contact the Fire Department’s Community Education office at 773-7965 or call CityLink 311.
