Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful - March 15, 2017
Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful is soliciting volunteers for the annual Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem, to be held Saturday, April 1, in conjunction with Forsyth Creek Week.
During the annual Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem, local roadways, parks and schools will be cleaned of litter from 9 a.m. to noon with the assistance of families, individuals, and church, civic, school and scouting groups. The cleanup beautifies the city and prevents litter from washing into local creeks and streams. For more information or to volunteer, go to KWSB.CityofWS.org, or call CityLink 311.
This year’s Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem is sponsored by Waste Management, Lowes Foods, Krispy Kreme, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Trader Joe’s and the Winston-Salem Journal.
Forsyth Creek Week, presented by Northstate Environmental, offers nine days of events for all ages, designed to encourage people to enjoy and appreciate local waterways. Activities include fishing clinics, guided creek-side bird-watching excursions, “creek crawls,” brown-bag “lunch & learn” days, children’s activities, bike and Segway rides along the Salem Creek Greenway, and more. A complete schedule of activities is posted at ForsythCreekWeek.org.
