The Northeast Suburban Area Plan Update was presented to the Planning Board on June 8 and was recommended to City Council which will hold a public hearing on the plan in fall 2017.  The date is to be determined.

The draft plan takes into consideration the comments and concerns expressed by citizens over four public meetings.  At the kick-off meeting, held November 24, 2016, the Existing Conditions report was presented which included demographics, existing land use and housing, among other topics.  Proposed land use changes and recommendations were presented at the second meeting on January 24, 2017.  The third meeting, held on February 16, included presentations on plan recommendations for transportation, historic resources, greenways and other community facilities.  The fourth meeting, March 21, was a drop-in session for citizens to view the maps and receive copies of the draft plan, as well as provide comments regarding the complete draft plan.
