Community packed Forsyth Creek Week open house at wastewater treatment plant

More than 50 curious citizens of all ages attended our open house on March 26 at the Archie Elledge Wastewater Treatment Plant. They learned that the millions of gallons of treated wastewater we put back into the Yadkin River is cleaner than the raw water drawn from the river for our water treatment plants. Visitors also toured the Archie Elledge plant control room and enjoyed light refreshments. To schedule a tour at any of our water, wastewater or solid waste facilities, contact CityLink Online or call 311 or 336-727-8000.

Contact a Licensed Utility Contractor for Installation of New Water & Sewer Connections

Until further notice, Utilities Field Operations will not install new water and sewer connections. Our priority is to maintain and repair existing system infrastructure. In order to connect to our water or sewer system, please contact a licensed utility contractor for this service. Any connections sold prior to January 1, 2019 will be honored.

Billing Delays

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities has important information regarding your utility bill. Please be advised that our billing cycle for bimonthly accounts is typically 60 days. Recently, there have been delays, which have resulted in billing cycles of 75+ days. If your balance due is higher than expected, examine the “Days” column on your bill to determine if this situation applies to you. You are not being charged more. You are only paying for the water used. Payment due dates have been adjusted accordingly. Thank you for your patience and understanding! For more information, contact CityLink Online or call 311 or 336-727-8000.

System Development Fees

On July 20, 2017, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted an act to provide for uniform authority to implement system development fees for public water and sewer systems throughout the state. House Bill 436 amended Chapter 162A of the General Statutes, adding "Article 8, System Development Fees" to define requirements for implementing water and sewer system development fees for local government units.

On June 11, 2018, the City/County Utility Commission (CCUC) approved new Water and Sewer System Development Fees, effective May 1, 2019. Fees will be determined by meter size per the following schedule:
