Winston-Salem / Forsyth County Utilities provides high-quality water, sewer and solid waste services through responsible use of resources, reliable delivery and stewardship of the environment. Administrative offices are located in Winston-Salem City Hall with management by the City/County Utilities Commission, formed by a joint consolidation agreement in 1976.

System Development Fees
On July 20, 2017, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted an act to provide for uniform authority to implement system development fees for public water and sewer systems throughout the state. House Bill 436 amended Chapter 162A of the General Statutes, adding "Article 8, System Development Fees" to define requirements for implementing water and sewer system development fees for local government units.
On June 11, 2018, the City/County Utility Commission (CCUC) approved new Water and Sewer System Development Fees, effective January 1, 2019. Fees will be determined by meter size per the following schedule:
