Temporary Suspension of Water & Sewer Connection Installation Requests
Utilities Field Operations will temporarily suspend accepting any new water and sewer connection installation requests from January 1, 2019 through March 1, 2019. During this time, our priority will be to maintain and repair broken pipes during the cold weather. If new connections are needed, please use a utility contractor.
System Development Fees
On July 20, 2017, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted an act to provide for uniform authority to implement system development fees for public water and sewer systems throughout the state. House Bill 436 amended Chapter 162A of the General Statutes, adding "Article 8, System Development Fees" to define requirements for implementing water and sewer system development fees for local government units.
On June 11, 2018, the City/County Utility Commission (CCUC) approved new Water and Sewer System Development Fees, effective May 1, 2019. Fees will be determined by meter size per the following schedule:
