This location at 860 West Fourth Street was rehabilitated in part through the city's NRSA Building Improvement Program.
The Winston Salem City Council has approved several important initiatives that create and retain job opportunities in our community and neighborhoods. These programs help develop businesses and revitalize property which in turn augments the City tax base.
These program are available in the City's designated; Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA), which is that area approximately bounded by Waughtown Street on the south; the Smith-Reynolds Airport area on the north; U.S. 52 on the west; and Brushy Fork Creek on the east. The following programs provide financial assistance to businesses and individuals within the NRSA:
RUCA Revitalizing Urban Commercial Areas Funding is available for business assistance in specific distressed urban areas of the City. Target Area Business Assistance Program provides financial assistance for businesses expanding or locating within disadvantaged areas of the City.
NRSA Building Rehabilitation Program provides financial assistance for building and site improvements within distressed areas.
