Let the city take you to school
City of Winston-Salem University gives citizens a better understanding of city government, including the responsibilities of various city departments and the city’s role in the community.
Topics include:
- city governance and finance
- sanitation
- utilities operations
- streets
- transportation
- public safety
- planning
- economic development
- housing
- recreation
- public facilities
- internal city operations
Students are chosen through an application process. Class size is limited. Classes are from 6 to 9 p.m. The classes meet at City Hall and various other locations.
The next session begins January 28, 2010.
Application deadline is December 31, 2009, 5:00 p.m.
