Community Appearance Commission to Unveil Marker on Trade Street

The Community Appearance Commission will unveil a marker at the corner of Trade and Sixth streets on Nov. 1, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in recognition of its biennial 2009 Classic Award winner. Trade Street’s Arts District won the award at this year’s "Art of Living" awards ceremony held on Oct. 19. The Arts District was honored for its place in Winston-Salem’s past, present and future. The district has become a vibrant center of activity through a collective effort between artists, businesses and the public. The marker signifies that effort.

The Community Appearance Commission sponsors a biennial awards program to honor the efforts of businesses, individuals, and community groups who have had a positive impact on the appearance of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
