National Law Enforcement Week Activities Scheduled

The Winston-Salem Police Department, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the Kernersville Police Department, the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Forsyth County, the Wake Forest Campus Police, the UNC School of the Arts Campus Police and Forsyth County Animal Control are joining forces to commemorate National Law Enforcement Week, being observed May 10-16. The week honors those officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.

A memorial service to remember fallen officers in Forsyth County is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Pinedale Christian Church, 3395 Peters Creek Parkway. A roll call of officers killed in the line of duty will be read and the Rufus Dalton Award will be presented to three officers injured in the line of duty.

On Saturday, May 16, the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation will host a 5K run at Tanglewood Park to raise money for the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation.
