Citizen’s Committee Files Its Final Annual Report on Legacy
The Legacy Oversight Committee is a group of citizens established to monitor progress in implementing the Legacy Development Guide, the community’s comprehensive plan. The Committee has completed its 2008 and last annual report to the community.
The Committee concluded that many of the goals, policies and actions proposed in Legacy have been accomplished and is satisfied that good progress was made in improving many aspects of the community's quality of life, although slower progress was made in some other areas.
The Committee feels that our community now has in place many of the growth management tools recommended by Legacy to achieve the community's vision of the future. It notes that the principles of Legacy are still relevant. However, plans should not be static but dynamic and evolving and it is time to take stock and begin the process for updating Legacy so that it can stay current.
The report highlights major achievements for the year 2008. View the Legacy Development Guide Update 2008 for the complete online report or you may view the report at county libraries.
