It's a Great Career

Division Representatives

New officers are assigned to the Patrol Division. After two years, officers are eligible for assignment to other units, such as vice & narcotics or investigative services. During your career, you can expect to be periodically assigned back to Patrol.  The promotion ladder leads from police officer to corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, assistant chief, and chief.

Shifts: Fixed shifts within same geographic beats/areas. Officers in the patrol division work under an innovative shift system that puts more officers on the street during high activity hours.
