Making the Team

Agility TestAgility test: Simulates the physical challenges a police officer might encounter. Includes running, repeated climbing and descending stairs, pulling a rescue dummy out of a vehicle and moving it 50 feet, crawling through a tunnel and performing strength exercises.

Successful candidates must: pass the background investigation, pass a physical agility test, pass a police suitablility screening and background interview, and receive final approval by the Chief of Police. The selection process usually takes four to five months.
