Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility
This service is free for all qualified residents of the City of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
Wastes generated by commercial or industrial businesses are not covered under this program. Call 3RC for business rates.
3RC The EnviroStation hours
- Tuesday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - noon.
- Closed on holidays.

- brake fluid
- car batteries
- glues
- strippers
- thinners

- batteries
- unmixed photographic materials
- other poisonous, ignitable, corrosive products
- motor oil
- paints
- cyanide waste
- fluorescent light bulbs (CFCs)
Keep hazardous waste items separate (do not mix) and in their original containers wherever possible. If the label is not legible or a material is in a different container from the original, label the item. We suggest you put these items in a cardboard box lined with newspaper.

Location
The 3RC facility is across from Bowman Gray Stadium at 1401 South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. From Highway 52 North and South, take the Stadium Drive exit. Turn left onto Stadium Drive. At the first intersection, turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Travel approximately 1/2 mile and the facility is on the left across from Bowman Gray Stadium and the Hertz Rental Company.
Enter the facility through the gate and circle around to the containment area. Do not leave your vehicle.
A 3RC employee will ask for proof of Forsyth County residency (driver's license) and will then unload the materials from your vehicle. You will be asked to fill out a form.
