Get InvolvedWaughtown Preservation & Revitlization Coalition Members

Through the City of Winston-Salem's Stormwater Division, there are ways that you can get involved to help protect water quality.  You can volunteer to Adopt-A-Stream or Mark Storm Drains in your neighborhood or you can invite a speaker to your next meeting.

The Adopt-A-Stream program is a cooperative venture between the Stormwater Division and Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful.  Families, groups, neighborhood associations, scout troops, and business groups can all volunteer to Adopt-A-Stream.

Storm Drain Marker Program

Storm Drain Marking can be done by anyone!  Volunteers mark storm drains in their neighborhoods or anywhere in the city where storm drains haven't been marked.  In addition, volunteers place informational door hangers on neighborhood doors to let residents know about stormwater runoff pollution.  This one-time activity is a powerful educational tool for our community.
To volunteer please use the volunteer form: Stormwater Volunteer Form

Invite a Speaker

WSSU Volunteer FairThe Stormwater Program can make speakers available. Presentations can be made to community groups, businesses, for public events, and in the classroom to talk about stormwater pollution. We can staff a table filled with educational materials. These presentations can be customized to accomodate any time period you choose.

For more information on how you can protect water quality, invite a speaker to meet with your group.
