Police Department - November 9, 2017
The Winston-Salem Police Department has released the second in a series of short videos about unsolved homicides during 2016. Police are looking for new leads in the unsolved homicide of Karodd R. Nash, 25, of 1119 Louise Road, Winston-Salem.
Nash was shot to death in his car while it was stopped at the corner of Ninth Street and Graham Avenue on the evening of Sept. 16, 2016. Witnesses described the gunman as a black male wearing black shorts and a red T-shirt.
The video will be posted on the city’s Facebook page and promoted within the zip codes where Nash lived and was killed, said Lt. Michael Cardwell of the Criminal Investigations Division. "We do not believe that this was a random act, and that there are people out there who have information that can help us solve this case," Cardwell said. "We’re hoping that this video will bring them to contact us. Any bit of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, can help."
Crimestoppers is offering cash rewards for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
The video is also showing on WSTV (the city TV channel on TimeWarner Cable and AT&T U-verse) and is posted on the city’s YouTube channel.
There were six unsolved homicides during 2016. With the assistance of the city’s Marketing & Communications Department, the Police Department is releasing a series of videos about these cases.
