The Fairgrounds Farmers Market will kick-off its summer season Saturday, May 18, with live music and the "From Our Hands to Yours" crafts fair with more than 17 crafters selling jewelry, soaps, candles, home décor items and more.
The market will open at 6 a.m. and the crafts fair will start at 8 a.m.; the Winston-Salem Suzuki School will provide music from 9 to 11 a.m.
Other promotions planned for the year include live music and the third annual "Berry Fresh" pie contest on June 1, a "Pollinator Party" to celebrate National Pollinator Week on June 22, "Gourd-geous Gourd Day" and a watermelon-eating contest on July 13, the annual "Saucy Salsa" contest Aug. 17, and the Handcrafted Holiday Showcase on Dec. 7.
The Fairgrounds Farmers Market is Forsyth County's longest-running source for locally raised fruits, vegetables and proteins. Market vendors also offer flowers, handmade baskets, cakes & pies, fresh baked breads, jams & jellies, honey, crafts and much more.
The market is open every Saturday year-round from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enter through the parking area off of 27th Street.
