Recreation and Parks - June 14, 2019
Fireworks, food trucks and live music are on tap Saturday evening, June 29, during "Rock Out the Quarry," a pre-Fourth of July festival being held from 7 to 11 p.m. at Quarry Park, 1790 Quarry Park Road.
Music will be provided by Darryl Little & Friends, and 24 food trucks are signed up to participate.
Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. WSTA will provide free park & ride shuttles from eight off-site parking sites: Salem Lake Marina, Emmanuel Baptist Church, St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Hanes Magnet School, SouthEast Plaza, Hall-Woodward Elementary School, the William R. Anderson Community Center and the Boys & Girls Club. There will be no event parking at Quarry Park.
Rock Out the Quarry is being presented by Vulcan Materials Co. with additional support from HanesBrands, Kona Ice and Lidl, and is being organized by the Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks, Community Development and Police departments.
