Recreation and Parks - June 24, 2019

Darryl Little & Friends, New Dimensions and Hunter Hill will be performing this Saturday, June 29, at Rock Out the Quarry, the pre-Fourth of July fireworks festival being held from 7 to 11 p.m. at Quarry Park, 1790 Quarry Park Road.

The festival will also feature DJ Levels, face-painting by Cheryl Ann Lipstreu, 24 food trucks, and a kid's zone. The fireworks show will begin between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Coolers will not be allowed. WTSA will provide free park & ride shuttles from eight off-site parking sites. The parking lot at William R. Anderson Community Center is reserved for vehicles with handicapped-parking placards. The other seven sites available for general parking are at Salem Lake Marina, Emmanuel Baptist Church, St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Hanes Magnet School, SouthEast Plaza, Hall-Woodward Elementary School and the Boys & Girls Club. There will be no event parking at Quarry Park.

Rock Out the Quarry is being presented by Vulcan Materials Co. with additional support from HanesBrands, Kona Ice and Sunshine Beverages, and is being organized by the Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks, Community Development and Police departments.
